Erwin Druyts, voorzitter van de Kempische kajakschool, is apentrots. Wouter D’Haene, één  van de beste kajakkers in België, heeft in zijn zoektocht naar een nieuwe club,gekozen voor Kempische Kajakschool van Turnhout. Dat is opmerkelijk, want op dit ogenblik is deze club zowat de kleinste van België moet zijn. De keuze van Wouter werd met zekerheid beïnvloed door de grootse plannen die de Kempische Kajakschool heeft met o.m. een nieuw gebouw dat alle noden van zowel de professionele kajakvaarders als van de recreant zal kunnen voldoen. Wouter D’Haene is thans in volle voorbereiding voor het WK in Hongarije.
